Sometimes you’ve just got to let yourself burst into flames,
Let your fire reach high into the sky
Sometimes you’ve just got to let yourself burn,
Let your ash be one with the sand.
Sometimes you’ve just got to sink deep below
Watch the boats sail away in the dark
Sometimes you’ve just got to let a little fear go,
Let the darkness tell you all you need to know.
Sometimes life’s council lies not in the light
You’ve got to survive through the blackness of night
But someday you’ll wash up on that fated shore,
The air will soothe your chest,
The light will shine in your eyes,
For life’s answers always await in guise,
And to find them, you must sometimes capsize.
