Is there something you’re waiting for?
Perhaps a certain dawn,
That would be brighter than before?
Is there something you ignore?
The soiled soul that you hide
That you pushed away deep inside
But they thrive in the darkness,
The shadows that you avoid
Too afraid to step close,
Lest you’re dragged in again
Lest you fall down the same dark well
And begin to feel the pain once again.
Whether you see it or not,
It watches you, it touches everything you do
And whether or not you agree,
It has its grip on you.
